ARCANGLES

Arcangles are wall-mounted light sculptures made with layers that each have different kinds of LEDs and color on their fronts and backs.

There are many things going on simultaneously in the Arcangles. They have multiple forms at varying distances from each other to create asymmetrical compositions, painted with reflective colors. When the artworks’ lights are off and they are in ambient light such as overhead fixtures or daylight, the colors and reflective nature of their surfaces are visible.

When their LEDs are turned on in a darker environment the artworks change completely. They have different colors of LEDs embedded in their surfaces, which make independent drawings following and diverging from their underlying forms. Each component is also backlit to beam many more colors of light onto the layers or walls behind them. The artworks are complete worlds of harmonic color and form.

Each artwork is shown from the front and sides with its LEDs on, and from the front with its LEDs off.
