SPIRAL EXCHANGE (PROPOSAL) (2013)

An 18’-high sculpture of light and reflective materials atop a stepped masonry platform, Spiral Exchange will soar up out of its park’s brick surface to act as welcoming beacon. It consists of two six-sided forms, one inside the other and sloped in opposite directions. Each face will be made from a different color of the reflective road sign material; the frame will have channels housing hidden colored LED lights that turn on at night, to create surprising and beautiful color combinations.

Rendering for public art commission that was awarded in 2013 for placement in a pocket park next to the Police Station in New Britain, CT, and subsequently canceled due to budget constraints.
