DAY BY DAY (2024)

I created a set consisting of three sections faced with reflective road sign material and backlit by blue LEDs. The left section was a high panel, the middle was a doorway, and the right was a bench, giving the choreographer many ways to place the dancers.

I collaborated with choreographer Danielle Diniz in the non-profit Norte Maar’s CounterPointe11, an annual performance pairing seven artists with seven contemporary ballet choreographers. Danielle Diniz created a beautiful ballet with five dancers, set to Philip Glass’s Piano Concerto No. 1, “Tirol”: Movement III, performed by the LGT Young Soloists, recorded in 2021.

The artwork stretched to almost 17 feet,; the left section was a high panel, the middle was a doorway, and the right was a bench, giving the choreographer many ways to place the dancers.
Left section: 56”H  x 34inW Doorway:  84.5inH x 54inW
Total Height x Width: 84.5in x 203.25in (16’ 11 ¼”)
Bench: 24inH x 38.25inW
Total Height x Width: 84.5in x 203.25in (16’ 11 ¼”)
When disassembled:76inH x 34inW.
